Our Wedding …

We got married on 8th July 2006 at Charlton House in Somerset. A fantastic country house hotel we came across 12 months earlier (before we were even engaged!) when we’d been in the area looking for accommodation.

Our wedding day was perfect - celebrated with us by about 70 family and friends. It was wonderful to see both sets of families and friends meeting for the first time and getting on so well together.

We had a small civil ceremony just with close family and then the main ceremony for which Sadaf wore the most fantastic Indian dress. It was a lovely Anglo-Asian Fusion. Former vicars of Sadaf’s Jeremy Crossley led the service and Andy Rider did a wonderful address. We had various friends do readings for us and the worship was provided by ‘Pastiche’ (again well recommended by Sadaf).

It was a lovely afternoon for photographs on the lawn and Amanda our photographer, ably assisted by her husband took lots of great shots. We then retired into the marquee for long-awaited food - again a lovely fusion of Anglo-Asian food, the Asian part provided with excellent service by Vama in London. This culminated in the usual cutting of the cake and speeches.

The evening wound down to a bit of light Jazz.

We were exhausted by the end of the day when we retired to our room but sorry to see all our guests go.
