Sunday, June 29th, 2008Some strange looking pedal bikes have started appearing all over Cheltenham, the first of which I noticed just down the road from where we live. The idea of that you ‘borrow’ one to cycle around the town and deposit it at another ‘cycle station’. Apparently it’s free for the first half hour and then chargable as you have register your credit card. This appears to be one the local council’s ‘green’ initiatives, the only problem being that the bikes are painted bright green with words printed on them - not exactly the sort of thing you would catch me - or many people on I suspect, although one of the at least seems to have been used.
